Lifting does not have a single cause and is not automatically resolved by changing the base. The problem may be related to:

• Incorrect evaluation of the nail plate.
• Insufficient or aggressive preparation.
• Cuticle or tissue remaining on the nail plate.
• Dust, moisture, oil, or touching the prepped nail.
• Choosing an unsuitable product for the type of nail plate.
• Incorrect combination of products.
• Incorrect application of the adhesion layer.
• Material applied onto the skin.
• Incorrect thickness or amount of product.
• Incomplete polymerization.
• An unsuitable lamp for the product used.
• Incorrect architecture or unsupported stress area.
• Impact, pressure, or using nails as tools.
• Hormonal changes or other bodily changes that should be discussed with a doctor, not diagnosed by the technician.

Not all nail plates require the same base, the same gel, or the same technique. In this course, you will learn how to analyze the nail and choose the system based on the flexibility of the plate, length, architecture, and history of lifting.

You will understand when you can keep the technique used and only need to correct the preparation or application, but also when you need to choose a different product, a different combination of products, or a different technique.

Products must be used in a compatible system and in the correct order. We do not combine products at random just because each one works separately.

We do not perform repairs when the natural nail is cracked and bleeding, when there is an open wound, or when the area has not healed. The material is not applied over blood and must not come into contact with injured tissue.

If the area is scarred and there is no longer any blood, the nail can be re-evaluated to determine if it can be safely cleaned and protected.

If the crack appears again in the same place, the cause must be checked:

• The fissure was not completely cleaned.
• Lifting or detached material remained.
• The chosen material does not provide the necessary support.
• The fiberglass was not applied or encapsulated correctly.
• The architecture was not corrected.
• The apex or stress zone are positioned incorrectly.
• The corners and growth points are not supported.
• The length is too great for the existing support.
• The nail is subjected to repeated knocks or pressure.
